I'm about to service my Megane, including changing the spark plugs, i hear that i should re-apply silicone grease to the coils/plugs contacts.
I've just been to Renault and they want £40 for the grease !!!
anyone know of an alternative "cheaper" brand to using Renault's own.
A link in the reply would be nice, so i can see what i need.
thanks in advance.

Can't see why it would be so expensive?

I assume the £40 was for a VERY large tub of the stuff
I didn't wait long enough to find out.
what i'm wondering is if Mulit-purpose silicone grease can be used
https://www.maplin.co.uk/searchtemplate. ... N%20GREASE
or do i need stuff that complies with a particular standard ?

found this on a french website and translates to...
FLUOSTAR 2L Grease of electrical waterproof quality without silicone
which led me to...
PFPE synthetic fluid Grease
Viscosity ISO VG 150 (135-165 cSt / 40°C)
Automotive equipments Mechanical engineering
so it does sound very specialist, although this looks like it might do the job...
https://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?Mod ... 0#overview
one of the FAQ's is
Q) Can I use this on ignition coils on a car - TDA
A) Yes the product does support that.
