Ok, i have my baby for 2 years now shes mostly been fine, late last year I had my dephaser pulley changed after cutting out and losing power type smyptoms, then i had a second cutting out problem, it just wouldn't start and when it did it would cut out every time the revs got to lower than 1000 (i.e junctions, parking, reversing etc.)
My third cutting out problem was an accessory fuse beleive it or not!! Eac time my problems were only fixed with the help of Webcode. I would quite happily pay into a fund to say thanks to him, as many people have suggested!!!
Now my fourth cutting out problem, who knows what it is!!! Could it be another dephaser problem? Again its intermittant, on days when it is doing it, it cuts out at every junction whenever the revs reach a point when they should idle. I've taken to dangerously trying not to stop at junctions, stopping with my handbreak when pulling up to a stop, just so that i can keep my revs high and prevent it from cutting out!!!
Surely it can not be another dephaser pulley problem??!! Its not holding back on power as it was the first time around when it was that part?
Again any help is much appreciated!!!
aaarrrrrggghhhhhh!!!!!
Surely it can't be the dephasier pulley again...cutting out!

as i mentioned, i've already had my TDC sensor changed, (the last time it was messing about!!) and it did fix it, so it may well be ur TDC sensor.
I tried to suggest parts they sould look at the garage (cam sensor, throttle sensor, dephaser pulley) wrote them on a piece of paper to and to the garage, they told me I could not put words into te mechanics mouths, as if they fixed those parts then it turned out to be something else...... and bla bla blah
What a joke!!! So by suggesting they ensure they look at certain parts (although as the professionals they should know) I'm putting words into their mouths....
Well anyway after all the visits it seems like it is fixed, they changed "a sensor" but again its all a joke, as they got it wrong the first times, they did it for free, I asked for a copy of the invoice for my records, and they were very reluctant to give me a copy, the receptionist actually said, they cannot give me a copy unless i want to pay for the work!!! I asked if she could then write te part that was changed on a price of paper for my own records, so I knew what work had been done on my car, she would not do this either!!!
She said she would try and post something to me by next week!!! For some reason they seemed to be very reluctant for me to know what work was done on the car. This to me suggests one of two things. 1- no extra work has been done, they simply cannot find te problem and the same thing will re-occur soon 2-it was one of the parts that I suggested, and they are too embarrassed that a woman who is not a trained mechanic, managed to do a better diagnosis of te problem than trained menchanics with specialist technical equipment!!!
This is Renault in Willenhall which is part of Autoworld by the way - Name and Shame!!!
They also changed a headlight bulb free of charge pointing out that this would have cost me £90 if I was paying, as they have to take the bumper off to change it!!! Again being a woman does not make me totally car-illiterate, I have changed a bulb b4, and yes they are a get to get to on the Megane, but theres no need to take a bumper off, and it doesn't cos £90!!
What warranty company are you a member with. I am with warranty firect and I will never renew with them ever again. But my issues with warranty direct are another story!!
I am with AA now, part of their package that pays the first £500 towards any work you have done following a breakdown, I contacted them first time and they even paid for the price of the diagnostic!!! No arguments!!!

Can I suggest you read this:
https://www.meganeownersclub.co.uk/forum ... php?t=1158
This whole epsiode strikes me as total incompetence by the dealer you have used.
You have every right to know what work has been carried out on your vehicle regardless of whether it's warranty or paid work. I suggest you go back and demand to see the customer service manager and get full detailes from them.
Sorry to swear but that is total Bollocks. I could say that that is exploitation as well!

Hiya,
wow it really does seem like a nightmare to sort
they just seem to try to blag their way out of anything! its crazy!
anyway - it just reminds me of how crap they are at renault! (sorry just had to get my rant out too lol)
it seems strange that they felt it necessary to tell you how they had changed the bulb for you - as though trying to make you believe that they have been ever so kind!
it does take the pish
i hope you get it sorted

thanks iain, and megane chick. At least it is now sorted and I dont need to get the train and bus to work!!! I just have to get records of what work they have actually done now!!!
Iain I will definately be back at the dealers, they obvioulsy have mistaken me for someone they can fob off (i'm sure it has NOTHING 2do with the fact that fact that I am a young woman!!) I just thought I would give them a chance before I go back in to the dealer, or have to complain to Head Office, and believe me, I know how to complain!!
MeganeChick, I have also been told that previoulsy with work that was completed under warranty. You can complain directly to the Head Office / Renault UK, I'm not saying its a definate, but other ppl on te site, and also my friend that also has a Megane have managed to get Renault to pay from half to all when they have done this. So give this a try b4 shelling out. Which warranty company r u with?

yeah thats it go and give em it!!

thanks for the suggestion - i shall try and persevere with them too - its not on that they can blag me in that way.
im currently with warrantyworks - they will cover my TDC sensor but they require more specific info re which coil packs i want replaced before they will do it. they will not cover diagnostics tho. its a good value warranty though i get up to £1500 per claim and not claim cost or anything. it costs about £150 per yr i think. not made the claim yet so need to see how it turns out before i recommend them

thanks for your help! *good luck*

I've just had the same issues regarding a coil and dephaser. Put the car in for it's service - 36K even though it's only done 29K. I get a call from the dealers saying I need a coil to stop the missfire & a new dephaser! Which garage did you use to get Renault Uk to cover the bill?
