1.6 vvt hesitation - time to give up

Postby GoldenWonder » Tue Sep 04, 2007 6:59 pm

Well, my 2005 1.6 vvt has spent 5 days in the Renault garage in the 2 months I've owned it. With 15,000 miles on the clock its been a joke!

I've had the steering rack fixed, the dephaser replaced and the hesitation 'investigated' three times (to no avail - every time the garage says theres no fault, or its a feature of the engine)

As it was around 5 degree this morning the hestitation was terrible - worse than my first car - an 1976 1300 Ford Escort!

Surely there must be a fix to this - its pathetic that Renault expect you to sit and wait for the car to warm up before driving it! Having read the forums though I've had everything done that offers a fix (new dephaser, reprogrammed etc) - maybe with the exception of changing the spark plugs

This is the first Renault I've ever had and I expected an occasional problem or fault with mass produced cars, but Renaults inability to fix their own faults is outstanding.

Sigh. I can't be bothered with the aggro anymore. Anyone fancy a Ottoman Blue 2005 (55) 1.6 VVT?

Seeing as you have only had it for a couple of months reject the car, its quite easy to do.
Make improvements, not excuses!

Update

Just as an update - I wrote the renault customer services about this.

Unsuprisingly no reply forthcoming. They are destined to remain at the bottom of JD Power surveys!
