cd changer

hi,

can anybody tell me if this changer:

will work with the standard single cd player in a 2004 megane?

seems very cheap - is there a reason for that?!

Think it will work, but I would go for another VDO model, capable of playing WMA/MP3 discs. I've used it with my Renault radio:

thanks for that - did see the mp3 one on another website but it was ~£150, to be honest I can live without mp3 playback if I can save 1/2 the cost on fitting a changer. Has anybody successfully mounted a changer in the glovebox on a megane? I read somewhere that strong velcro can be used to mount them (rather than drilling holes for screws everwhere) - anybody tried it?

I fitted the changer next to the spare wheel in the boot. There you have exactly space to fit it.

Cable is long enough to go from the trunk to the radio.

You doon't have to fix it with srews when placing it next to the spare wheel, it is such a tight space that it is fixed in a vertical position on it's own, only need some filling material like packing material to fill up the wholes and realy fix it. Advantage is that you easily remove it without leaving holes.

I cut out a small rectangular hole in the cover above the spare wheel to have access to the changer for easy swapping of discs. This cover is in its turn covered by the floor in the boot (the top floor you can remove and which can be folded if you understand what I mean) so you don't see anything when you open the trunk

that sounds like a really good instalation location - will have to check it out when I get the car at the weekend. I was thinking of the glovebox because I did not want the hassle of running a cable the whole length of the car - is it easy to do that?

No hassle, 30 min job!

Don't put it in the the glovebox, thieves would be able to easily steal it and it would fill the glovebox completely if it would fit at all.
