1.5 dci (80) flat spot (turbo lag)

Postby doodle » Thu Aug 23, 2007 7:46 pm

Had my megane since new (53reg) now done 55k Miles generally ok now got a few problems 1st feels like bad turbo lag. Have read about EGR valve where is this located? is it easy to change.

2nd Check injection warning coming on for about 10 seconds after any start up then goes off until next start up. Read about glow plugs does this sound like the problem?

Any ideas? :?

Firstly Welcome to the forum

A stuck or sticking EGR valve can cause major flat spots. Personally I'd take it to a Diesel injection specialist (Bosch or Lucas) or Renault if you are feeling flush and get them to diagnose the problem.

Here is how to clean it on a 1.9dCi, I would expect the 1.5 is very similar?

A stuck EGR can damage your Turbo so I would get it in somewhere ASAP.

The "Check Injection" does sound like a failed glow plug or two?
