I am a new member. I have a blue 5 door 54 plate 1.5DCI 100 auto Dynamique trim. Never had a Renault. At this moment I love the car, the auto box is pretty good. If any one else has one of these would love to compare notes!

Welcome to the club :wave

A 1.5dCi Auto, those are as rare as the preverbial rocking horse poo! :grin

How is it's performance? Been thinking about an auto next time I change?

Performance is ok. It takes a bit of getting used to. Once you hit the kickdown it picks up pretty quick. Mpg seems to be about 46 to 52 which isn't bad considering it's an auto. what should I look out for with the 1.5DCI Engine?

It's pretty bullet proof really. The only thing I would recommend is that you halve the oil change interval from 18000 to 9000 miles and use a fully synthetic 5W40 ACEA B3/B4 oil.
Engine mounts can fail though :(

I joined on 22/08/07,
Just bought my first car since 11 years of company car driving.
It's a 1.5Dci Extreme 3dr in Red. I am loving it! It feels good, looks good
and is soooo cheap to run. Great to have an owners club too.

Just had car serviced at Wests, Clapham. Did a really good job price was reasonable. I will let people know how things go. :) Was some ambiguity about service intervals. My car feels 12000 miles are correct, but garage feel 18000 is correct. Perhaps you guys out there may know, what is the correct interval?

Thanks

It's 18000 miles or every 2 years, whichever is sooner for manual Meganes. Auto's might be 12000 :hmm What does your miles to next service indicator say?
These are only guidelines, if you read your service book it will state that dpendant on driving conditions servicing may be needed more frequenlty?

Like I said before it's better to chnage the oil more frequently, Turbo's cost a lot of money to replace!

Service Intervals

Postby Kurleyuk » Wed Sep 12, 2007 3:24 pm

The service mileage countdown is definately set to 12000 miles. I would be much happier with 12000 miles rather than 18000. I think I will have it serviced at a maximum of 12000 miles and not 18000 and maybe do oil changes in between to be on safe side as advised. 8)
