Ignition Coils

Are these beggers all likely go on me. Ive had two go and Im frightened to go anywhere in case Im any distance from home and I get the dreaded light.

Hi Jonno

In my view - ignition coils can (and will) pack up with no notice whatsoever. All you can do - if your car is out of warranty - is carry a spare set in the boot, along with a 10mm spanner!

Easy change even for the diy bloke but a job that should not be needed if the damn things were reliable in the first place! :x

Thanks for the advice i'm going to get a couple at the weekend from GSF, but as a matter of interest how does the electrical connector come of , do you just lift the catch and presto. Just had a look and tried to lift them but hesitated in case I cause damage to the connector. Cheers

Pretty sure they just clip off as you said, then its just a 10mm spanner and you're away!

If you are at all unsure - I think there are some photos on here somewhere, have a search.
