Ratteling noise from back door!!

Postby Hany Saad » Wed Jun 27, 2007 11:25 am

Since new, I used to hear a ratteling noise from the right back door as if humming birds whenever I am on bumps or uneven roads.
when I apply a light film of grease on the inner door frame the noise is gone but for few weeks and then back again whenever the effect of grease is over.

Is it a known problem? as I heard before that there was a problem concerning the Meg`s door seals but i don`t remember,I am still on warranty.

Any help will be much appreciated

Thanks.

Ratteling Noise from Back Door

Postby aelnemr » Sun Aug 19, 2007 3:07 pm

I've the exact problem from the right door, when i turned back to their maintenace it seems to be a knowen problem, they've adjusted that door and the noise is gone for 2 days and then it's back again

i've been to maintenace about 3 times for that specific problem and it's always the same, 2 days and it's back ....

I'm trying to get used to a louder music volume to overcome the problem :)

what I have noticed after many trials that whenever someone is sitting on the back seat on the right side the rattles are there but when I am driving alone there is no rattling.

I thought it might be the shock absorbers but I could not prove it.

I found under the back seat when you remove it ,a metal rod used to fix the back seat to the car`s body.what I think of is whenever someone is sitting the metal rod touches the car`s body and it makes the sound so I completely coverd it with an electric sealing tape and things are much better now,so try it ,it might help.
