Well after 6 months of trouble full motoring, i have decided to sell the old megane on. It is now near perfect but i cannot put up with the knowledge that something will go wrong with it very soon, its like driving on egg shells always looking at the display for Random messages such as 'CHECK INJECTION' and 'ELECTRONIC FAULT'. I spent £5000 on the car and over £1000 repairing it now i am selling it and going back to German technology (VW Golf GT TDI). Germany and France are so close, but so far apart when it comes to technology.
Maybe one day ill buy another renault, but not soon. Shocking cars, shocking customer service and even poorer public relations. Shame really as the megane is good when its working.
Goodbye Forum, enjoy your meganes.

I agree with you on that one too

All the best with the Golf, but still pop in. I still keep an eye on the Forum even though I have got rid of my Megane

As someone about to become a Megane driver soon, there is some cause for concern, but my in-laws run a 3 year old Scenic 1.5dCi and a 1 year old Golf 1.9TDi. The Scenic has been faultless, but the Golf needed a new gearbox at 1500 miles (manufacturing fault) and is now drinking oil like no car they've ever experienced.
For me, wanting the space of an estate, I couldn't go for VW since the new Golf/Jetta/Rabbit estate is not out and will look (to me) hideously bulbous! Hope you're getting the 2.0TDi rather than the old tech 1.9...

Gav, don't know what you are getting, sounds like an estate/super tourer?
I've had a couple (6) problems with my car, 55 plate 1.5 dci 106 suprer dodar thing. Apart from the 1 initial Renault problem, I put the rest down to dealer incompetance, and that could be said of VX, Ford, VW etc.
Thjey loaned me a f**ki* Nissajn as a courtesy car last time, that really was the all time low, beware it can get worse. Getting back in the Meganne was actually welcome, the love affair still continues..............
