Hi there,
I have a Megane R26 on order and have some Pioneer speakers waiting to be installed when I pick the car up in 2 weeks time...
2 Quick Questions:
1) Where would be a good place to fit the crossover units from the Pioneer component speakers? They are quite large so i'm worried that I won't be able to locate them effectively! In my 2002 Clio, the crossovers fit neatly behind the lower panel lighting panel (i.e. the small removable panel which hosts the lighting adjustment switches), but the new units are much bigger and I doubt they'd fit in the Megane's corresponding location...
2) Could anyone clarify what work needs to be carried out to the Megane itself if aftermarket speakers are to be fitted to the front doors in order to avoid water leaking in to the car?
Many thanks for your time,
Regards,
Dave

are you speakers goign to amped???
if they are it might be benificial for you to have it in the boot! (as mine)
but if not and your gona run the speakers from your head unit then you could stick the cross over behind the glove box.

well im presuming that the pioneer speakers come with tweeters!! right?? daverichmond1??
if they dont then you dont need a cross over, but im sure they do come with a tweeter unit so they will need one!

Iceman,
You are spot on, the Pioneer components come with a bass driver and seperate tweeter, hence the requirement for crossover!
Below is an image of the seperate components and as you can see, the crossover box is pretty large and bearing in mind that there are two of them (one for each channel), I am a little bit stumped as to where they can be installed!! I'm also quite worried by the depth of the driver itself. Do you think it will fit in the standard speaker location where the OEM speakers are installed?

Any ideas are welcome...
Thanks for your help,
Dave
