electric issues

Postby advancejoinery » Sat Apr 02, 2016 9:52 am

hi all, new to the forum.
iv gone through some old threads and found some helpful tips :) thanks guys and gals

my current issue is:-
electronic fault on dash. had car diagnosed with faulty ecu.
this morning i put a full ecu kit on. ecu, bcm, fusebox, card reader and new card. all parts from the same car which was a runner.

fitted them all by 9am this morning but had a flat battery, jump leads off my trusty ford transit to the battery and hey presto!

CAR STARTED :) :) no issues, ran well revved and idled well. left it half an hour on tickover then took it for a spin.

at this point im on a promise from the wife so smiley face. turned the car off. locked the doors, unlocked the doors card in press button:-

STEERING LOCKED then STEERING UNLOCKED non starter :( :(

iv replaced the 3 fuses on the positive battery terminal with fuse wire as a temp measure

the steering lock isnt engaging or disengaging

any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. my wife loves the meganes and this is her 3rd one, we have had this one a year 04 1.6petrol with no prior issues, everything has worked 100% from day one :)

thanks for reading :)
