I own a 2006 Megane 1.6 16V
This morning i noticed that the backlights on all 3 LCDs in the cabin didn't work anymore (on the climate control, the clock and on the kilometers display). The latter actually works at about 50% brightness before i start the car while it's displaying "PRESS BRAKE+START", but when i start the car it turns off.
After driving for about 15 minutes they all turned back on again, but didn't work anymore in the afternoon. The LCDs themselves actually do work, so during the day this is not a problem, but without the backlights i can't read them at night.
Does anybody know what could cause something like this? It's obviously some kind of electrical problem, but fortunately it doesn't seem to be affecting anything else. I drove in a pretty bad storm on sunday, so it's possible that there is water somewhere it shouldn't be, but i guess it's probably just wishful thinking to hope this will fix itself when it evaporates/drains away.

Re: LCD backlight on all screens turned off
Check the access cover is there in the passenger wheel arch
Re: LCD backlight on all screens turned off
Yep, it's there, but it's kind of flexible when i push on it and it looks like it's not completely pressed onto the wheel arch on its lower part. Is this normal, or should it be attached to the wheel arch really firmly?
Otherwise today the clock and kilometer LCDs seem to be ok, just the one for temperature occasionally turns off, so it looks like whatever was wrong actually is fixing itself.
