External Temperature Sensor Short to earth

Hi Guys n Gals.
New error code on my Meg II saying external Temperature Sensor Short to earth.
Where is the sensor located and is this a common fault???

External temp sensor is in the door mirror ,feel for a little bump under the mirror
Drive it like you stole it
