Hi Guys,
My Fan belt keeps fraying (I'm on my third one), I've had quick to see if anything's catching but can't see anything obvious, anyone come across this before?
I've also done a quick search on the forum but not come across any posts.
Thanks in advance
Pete

Re: Fan Belt
I hope you mean the alternator belt? As the fan is electric...unless that is your problem sorted there?? Not specific to our car but I have come across other cases like this due to the alternator out of alignment, usually due to a non standard replacement, or indeed other work being done in the past and the garage not checking thoroughly that things/belts are running freely.
Maybe it was disturbed when the original belt went?

Sorry, yes I mean the alternator belt, I've foud the problem now and your right incorrect alternator fitted sometime in it's history! Only 5 tooth sprocket not 6! Chnaged belt to a 5 tooth version. Hope this helps someone. Thanks for the reply Rob.
