Hello,
This morning I wound the drivers window of my 2006 (06-08 model) 1.5dci 106 Megane down, only for it not come back up again. I've had a look at the fuses, they are all fine, I've taken the door cover off and can't see anything obviously wrong either. When I pull back on the switch to raise the window the usual clicking sound can be heard, I've also noticed that when the cars headlights are on the lights are on for each of the other switches, whilst the light under the switch for the drivers window is out, which makes me think it is an electrical issue.
Does anyone know what the most likely problem is, and is it a quick fix?
Thanks
Drivers window completely stuck open

Hi your problem is most likely on the plug/socket connection
On the themic regulator one of the connections is corroded
A thin layer of solder on each side of each pin will ensure
Good connection when pluged back in.

Hi, Because you mention the light under the switch not on it could be the switch itself. Get a new one, they are easy to fit.
If the problem persists and you are hearing the click then its most likely the temic module which you can replace.
If you know how to take the door card off then the rest is just as easy so do it yourself. Parts shouldn't be more than £50.
If the window is still open and you want to close it then strip down the doorcard, remove the temic module, remove the motor and open up the white circular part that has the wires going into it. Inside is a toothed circle thing that you can turn by hand to put the window up or down. Then put it all backtogether while you wait for your parts.
Ive done this, its fiddly but doable in a few hours.
Good luck.

Re: Drivers window completely stuck open
Thanks, I've tried again this morning, and noticed when I use the switch I could just about hear something running in the door. I also tried double locking the car but that didn't work either, when it still works fine for the other windows
I'm not massively mechanically minded, if it does need taking to Renault I read something about a discounted rate for fixing this problem as it such a common fault. Does anyone know if this is still running?

Re: Drivers window completely stuck open
I wouldn't hold your breath for any discounted rate.
If you can hear something running then its probably the motor struggling. In this case the problem may not be the module or the switch but the mechanism. A new one can cost between £40 and £80. The job itself is relatively easy if you have a Haynes manual and a afternoon.
Failing that a garage will probably charge about £150.
I recommend you take the door card off entirely and try operating the window as normal. Find out what it is thats at fault before taking it to a garage.
Let us know the outcome either way.
