Hi
I have a issue with my wife's megane cc th drivers door window when you close it. they is a gap at the top on the side of the window of about a inch. Is it on these that when you open the door its suppose to drop around and inch and when closed it closes up again to prevent the window smashing when closing?

Hi there, no the windows don't drop when you open and close the doors. They just press onto the seal when you close the doors. They will drop down to the bottom when you put the roof down. Is the gap all the way across the top or just at one end? is it lined up with the edge of the rear quarter window? If not, you can adjust the angle with some screws at the bottom of the door.

Hi
Thanks for your reply, the gap is on the side with the rear window. When you close the door it seams to hit the roof which in turn makes the window have a gap down the side. If u push on the window at the top when closing then it seams to close fine. It's just strange never had it before or no where to start.

Hi again,
yes mine is the same. When I close the drivers door I have to push the glass at the top to make it flush with the rear window. If I am driving I flick the window down a bit and back up and the gap closes. As I said before you can move the window with some screws located at the bottom of the door. They are under the black oval shaped caps. I have got to do mine at some point.

Just a thought, close the door with the passenger one open. When I do this the drivers window always closes as it should. I think mine is also down to the pressure build up inside the car when you shut the door. Still going to adjust it anyway.

Re: 2004 megane cc
they just want adjusting correctly...
unfortunately, bad adjustment on the majority of cars has left the megane with a poor watertight image, which is a shame...
They categorically do not leak or have problems with doors sealing if the adjustments are correct...

MMmmmm Not quite correct I am affraid.
I have an offcial Renault CC CD That shows the technician what a permisable leak should look like down the CC windows.
As for the door windows, yes they do drop a minute amount just to clear the door seal overhang I didnt belive so I marked the glass on my 04 CC and watched, and it did to my suprise. Apparantly there are some adjustment screws under the door if you pop out the rubber gromets you will see them with the glass sent down to the bottom.

funny that as I had that problem when I bought mine...
the windows drop 2 to 3mm on opening the door as it comes off the door lock which guides the glass in if all adjusted correctly...if not the glass sits on the rubber and you have to0 lower the window and put it back up to seat correctly, or if you are leaving the car give it a shove !
the way to cure this is to lower the window and adjust the FRONT of window up until you have to force a fingernail in... then set the rear or you may find it has correctly adjusted itself with the front adjuster now being in the right setting....
There might be a permissible leak on a Renault cd.... but I have no leaks what so ever with my windows adjusted correctly and a bit of sudocrem on the first 3 inch of the rubber seals....and I mean a bit .
The roof design is a fabulous functioning bit of kit if maintained correctly....

Quite agree its a Mercedes roof quite smooth and doesn't dump the roof in the boot like the vauxhall and peugeot do.
Never heard of the sudocrem fix my rear quaters have always dripped a bit there is actually a run off chanel on the inside rear seals bit like a gutter but this year it has began to drip a little from the hindge area tried VW eos fix "crytox" which lubes and plumps seals stopped some of it in the end a smear of vasaline worked for now ah well I supose some incontinence is allowed at 11 years old and 125k on the clock and even now still not letting in anywhere near the amount of water the eos does at half the age!
