I would like to ask what do I need to buy for reading fault codes on Megane 2. Do I need a special code reader or I just connect cable from car to PC? Which software do I need? I assume that orginal Renault software is expensive, so is there any cheap "copy" software that will do the task?
If any, please post link from ebay.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Fault code reader and software
Zvone,
I use OBD Doctor which you can get as free download for the basic version. Full version about £35. Download to your laptop and away you go.
Check their web site for all the options.

I have the free APP for windows phones and upgraded to the Pro version for about a £10. I use a bluetooth elm327 adaptor which works really well with petrol engines but not with diesels, bought from e bay for £6. Diesels need another adaptor apparently
Hope this helps

Re: Fault code reader and software
there is CLIP and there is the DDT2000 with the VAG KKL cable but the first i know is flawless but expensive, the second is hard to find, more complicated to work and i think it doesnt work on 2005 models and later, but i ask if someone who knows that can confirm this
besides those two is there any alternative to make readings on ABS, Injectors, etc etc? A cheap alternative...
