yeah i though about getting the no. of the yellow plate but the numbers are impossible to make out which sucks just a bit. My plan is... if i find out that the turbo is at fault id want to rebuild it myself ..no joke... :eek lol but now iam not sure only because id have thought , with the heat of the turbo , it would have burnt the oil onto itself and not be nice and clean and possibly the pipe that had been slack leaked abit of oil ...but it still wouldnt explain why there is still oil in the air filter pipe and around the outer turbo casing unless when it was put on before someone lubed it up to go on easily , but then again.... would it not be nice clean oil and dryied out buy now , instead of the diry used oil anyways i post a top view of my engine just to show.

One thing you could consider before the drastic action is to get a big can of Jizer and some brushes + a tin of WD40.

This is not a joke: When the engine is cold, disconnect all the engine bay wiring and spray plugs and sockets with WD40 to waterproof them, then re-connect. Then pour some Jizer into a spray bottle (such as an old window cleaning one) and spray it all over everything in the engine bay, block, cat, turbo, pipes, wires, the lot (avoid trim and paintwork where possible). Use plenty, and remove the under tray before starting. Next, get your selection of brushes and agitate every nook and cranny and do it fast (no more than 10 minutes) as Jizer is not kind on rubber. Scrub it like mad. When you have a good lather up, get your hosepipe ready. Start the engine and as it gets warm, start to wash off the Jizer (it's water soluble). As the engine gets hotter, wash off with more water, then turn off the hose and watch the hot engine steam itself dry. When all is dry, switch off.

I've done this on mine several times to get the bay clean. The point is that if you clean off some of the crap, you can drive a few miles and see if/where it re-appears. The whole job takes no more than 30 minutes.

Best advice for Megane owners: sell it before it bankrupts you!

searching around this post came up.
in reply to original post.
i expect the oil is coming from the sealing ring that connects the plastic pipe to the turbo.
have had an oil leak could not see where it was from, too much oil, so i cleaned the rear of the engine up.
and then could see the oil was clearly coming from this point.
The sealing ring is split so this is the course.
on first thoughts it seems strange that oil can come from this point.
But then found a Renault issued technical note.
OIL SEEPAGE BETWEEN THE AIR INLET DUCT AND THE TURBOCHARGER 4382A
Customer complaint
–Oil seepage between the air inlet duct and the
turbocharger.
Possible cause
–Sealing between the air inlet duct and the
turbocharger.
Operation to be carried out
–Fit a sealing ring to the turbocharger inlet duct.

although this is about the CLIO 2 & KANGOO (same K9K engine) it seems there was no sealing ring so a modification kit was available.
Parts required
Quantity and description of parts Part No.
1 Sealing ring 82 00 363 123
1 Air inlet duct 82 00 280 084

so i am off to a Renault dealer to see if i can get a new one (hope its not going to mean buying the whole pipe)

livewire - did you ever manage to track down one of the sealing rings from a Renault dealer, and if so, did it solve the problem?!

These sealing rings are widely available on the Internet at about £7.

no, did not get one from dealer. they could only find it as part of that pipe which they wanted some £100+ for.
i did just use a cut piece of rubber pipe to replace it which did seal it.
but it has not solved the oil leak. as the oil is coming from the air pipe system, as when i seemed to stop it leaking from there it forces oil out from another joint.
the internet is full of similar problems which range from piston rings, turbo issues.
the car runs well otherwise so at the moment i am reluctant to start pulling other things apart.
i do not have unlimited amounts of time to do loads unless i know its needed.
so its an ongoing problem.
there is not any real amount of oil in the system, seems its being over pressurized? have seen this as a ring issue, but was also told if it was rings it would burn oil, which it does not.
