hello, I have a megane cc, which I purchased 2 months ago, and I have noticed than it only starts with the brake pressed and not the clutch?
Is this an easy fix
Thanks

Re: Can won't start with Clutch down?
Hi, if it's the same as mine I think the car starts with the brake down if gears are in neutral or if you happen to have left the car in gear you have to press the clutch down or it will not start on the button. My dash sign says press clutch/brake but it's one or the other depending if it's in gear as above. I tend to just make sure it's in neutral when I get in then start with the brake pressed.
It's not a fault as far as I'm aware (will check the handbook later though)

It used to start with the clutch down. I always leave it in Netrual.
Been looking online and I think the switch may be faulty on the clutch peddle

Car should start on either brake or clutch pedal being depressed.
Most common cause is a break in the wire where the switch is at the top of the clutch pedal. Not difficult or expensive to fix, but worth rectifying because if the switch on the brake pedal were to let you then down you couldn't start the car at all.

Yes the stock wires a a bit short. Extend them, connect to the clutch switch - it's half an hour job. Even easier: remove the switch by twisting it, solder the extension wires to it, then connect the extensions to the harness by twisting the wire ends.
