Hi guys
I have a small oil leak on the intercooler PVC pipe where it joins the steel or aluminium (not sure) pipe. It sits just above no. 4 injector.
Any ideas the reason?

Re: Megane 2 1.9dCi oil leak
Mine 'leaks' a bit of oil near the stop valve - it's cos some oil is getting into the turbo to intercooler pipe. Had it looked at by a couple of garages including a diesel specialist and all have said not to worry as they all do it! Every couple of months I take the intercooler off and flush is out with petrol. Last time there was very little oil in it so not too worried, and the car isn't worth enough to change the turbo.

A small amount of oil is to be expected in older diesels but it is worth keeping an eye on. If the turbo seal starts to go and kicks oil in to the inlet side it can cause a runaway. This happened on a friends resulting in a dead turbo and a lack of power ever since. a good way to combat it is to ensure oil is changed every 9k miles as a minimum and listen out for the turbo. Rattling is not good. If you ever have any doubt, get it to someone who can have a listen, turbo's on the way out do have quite a distinctive set of noises, or at least the ones I work with do.

You surely mean the other way round. The turbo fails, then the runaway thing happens...
Yes the turbos mainly fail due to lubrication problems, i.e. long drain intervals and cheap oil.

The turbo charge is leaking slightly there, most likely at the stop throttle valve. The air carries oil mist from the crankcase ventilation and from the turbo seals. The turbo seals are of dynamic type. They are supposed to leak a bit at very low loads. It is normal, unless you have to top up the oil frequently.

Hi guys
I don't need to top up in between services and I change the oil and filter every 10000km(6000miles)
