My new car...

Postby Moto70 » Thu Aug 01, 2013 11:10 am

First off hi to everybody...

I have recently acquired an '09 Megane CC and would like to ask a few questions.

1. Brake pedal - The brakes seem fine but I can't get a firm pedal, is this a trait?

2. Roof down - The car feels different, I can feel a slight front end 'shake' on rough roads. It goes when the roof is up. Again is this a trait of the car?

3. Windows - Should they drop a little when the doors are opened and then rise again when the door is closed? Mine don't but the drivers side window doesn't quite seal at the top unless I do this.

3. Best place for the RS bumper kit. The only place I've found doing them is tuningshop.co.uk, I really don't like the plastic inserts on the standard bumpers and I don't want all the scoops and stuff that are on a lot of the aftermarket bumpers I have seen.

4. Is that anywhere that sells aftermarket rear lights, again I'm after tasteful and not garish!

I am waiting for the new wheels to arrive tomorrow so all I have done for now is get rid of the silver roof 'bars', I really didn't like them in silver.

Welcome , looks good with the carbon trim ,
My brake pedal on mine is firm
You do get a bit of movement with the roof down as its not as ridged
My windows don't drop when I open roof and I sometimes have to reseat them in the up position to get them to seal
Don't know about the other bits
Drive it like you stole it

Ah right.

I'll ask the local garage about the brakes then.

I can't wait for the weekend when the new wheels and new stereo will be in it! I may look into the window thing a bit more and see if there is something that can be done, obviously the car knows when the doors are being opened as it turns off the stereo, lights, etc. My mate's Cooper S does the window dropping thing, also it would be lovely to have an option to close all the windows when locking it!
