Evening all, I just joined the forum & recently became the owner of a 2009(58) Megane mk2 1.5 dci 106 after I traded my 1.2 16v Clio.
Firstly it's a good looking car & does have a rather nice interior with rather comfy seats & feels much nicer to drive than the Clio, now the bad things, the Megane seems to have been built on a much tighter budget than the Clio, the indicator & wiper stalks feel very flimsy, the heater temp & fan speed dial feel like they could drop off at any time & I discovered earlier that the passenger door pocket lid is only held on with one plastic hinge & has a layer of sellotape along the back edge securing it!
And I know it's probably my driving style but i'm struggling to average more than 50mpg driving round town, I say average because the Megane doesn't display the current mpg like the Clio did, maybe I am a bit heavy footed but I had the Clio for over 6 years & that had to be revved to get some decent pull out of it, but with the Megane the power comes at much lower revs.
Apart from the problems i'm loving it so far & if it lasts as long as the Clio which never missed a beat then it should be a good car.
If anyone has any tips or hints for a newbie then please do share them thanks.

Firstly welcome along, that's a corker of an engine you've got there. 50mpg around town is good going imo especially if, as you say, you have a heavy right foot. Get to learn the torque and the fact that revving it isn't necessary to make good smooth progress.

Welcome
, I have the 1.9dci and I am getting about 46 around town and anything up to 56 on a decent run but I like giving it some stick
