Good Afternoon gents.
I have a problem with my wife's 2005 Megane CC 1.6 that has foxed a number of garages (and me) for some time so I hope someone here might be able to help. The problem occurs when the car is started from cold. If you attempt to drive off straight away the revs drop and the car will stall. It will start again without hesitation but will not pull away unless excessive revs are applied OR you wait for 1 - 2 mins before attempting to pull away.
Can anyone help sort this out as it is driving her (and now me nuts !) she works shifts as a nurse and obviously reving the car at 5am in order to pull away doesn't impress the neighbours.
The car has developed another roof related issue which I think is due to it not being used over winter that I think may be the microswitch in the top left windscreen surround as reported on this forum so I can investigate that later I had already cleaned and lubricated all the hinge points and seals last weekend when I discovered the roof issue it would start to retract, boot lid would open and then stop - it would take several further attempts to get the roof to first open and then to close but if it's simply a stuck microswitch then it's a cheap fix (fingers crossed).
cold start problem
