So my little Meggy is doing me proud, with nearly 5,000 miles of almost trouble free motoring behind it, but it has given me a desire to upgrade to a nicer example with at least a 6 speed box, but really, I want a 1.9 dCi.

So, the airbag and service lights are on. Now, I've done a search and I know these 2 lights can come on for the same reason, however, all connections are present and correct. For those who don't know, I bought this car from a friend after it was involved in an accident. The service light was already on when he had it, he was informed by a garage that it was due to the EGR valve, so I've cleaned that out, and the light is still on. The car has had a heavy accident before (that has become evident to me whislt rebuilding it, unless Renault built the back half of the car in Iran in 2003 and the front half in Spain in 2005 anyway) and after removing the steering wheel, I have discovered that the airbag is missing. So at least 1 of the 8 airbags isn't even there, and the car has had another accident since at 70mph with a HGV, and both driver and passenger came out without a scratch and with no chassis damage. A testement I think to how safe these little cars are, it's really earnt my respect! So, in short, I'm not bothered about "fixing" the problem so to speak, I just want to switch the damn light off. A friend has theorised that the service light, which when plugged into the MoT man's computers can be turned off, but when the car is driven just a few miles comes back on, could be reccuring because of another undetected fault that requires resetting. How I can get this off permently is a mystery. The light will switch off on the computer and reappear post accident.

Also, the auto locking doesn't work. I was informed that it did work before this accident. When you hold the button for 10 seconds, it beeps, but it doesn't lock the doors when you moce off. The button locks the doors when you press it though, so it isn't that. Could this be the proximity sensor or a speed sensor and if so, how can I get it going again?
Also, the passenger door doesn't always open properly, as in you have to continually pull on it hard until eventually opens.

Next question, which is a rather sinister one actually is the cars tendency to cut out whist on the move (Has happened once when staionary) and instead of the little dash display saying "Select Neutral" as it would if you stalled it for example, it switches the steering lock on and says "Please press Start + Clutch" as it does when the card is first inserted. This has only ever happened twice, and only ever at low speed and revs, coniciding with a slight hesitnace at that rev. At approx 1500 revs, sometimes the car stutters as if it's about to stall, but doesn't most of the time, only twice when moving has it cut out and switched the steering lock on. I can't see it being the card or reader, as it recognises the card in the slot, and as I understand it, the card must be in the reader and the car stopped for the engine to shut down. As an experiment, I tried to switch the car off whilst moving (Private road of course) and with 2 presses of the button, it cut out, but said "Press Start + Clutch" again, which I did, and it then said "Select Neutral" which I did, and it fired up again, all with the wheels still turning.

I don't know what to so with the car, and I can't sell it in this condition, so any help would be much appreciated!
Many thanks
