I got myself a second hand Edge 12" subwoofer and Edge ED7400 amplifier to add to the car as I was not happy with the sound. After 3 days of working on it part time, I finally managed to get it all hooked up and working with my Sony CDX GT30 RN headunit. It was not the easiest thing to do as I had never installed an amplifier before and had to search up on the interweb to find a way to get the amplifier power cable to the battery in the engine bay via a hole in the firewall, that was behind the glove box. This meant dismantling it and that was tricky to do by itself. In the end, I managed get it all wired up and working after a fair bit of hard work.
This is it installed in the boot of the car.

I still have the stock speakers in the car at the moment and waiting for the Pioneer TS-Q131C to be delivered this week. Once they are here, I will install them and get some pictures up. Hoping for dramatic improvement in the sound quality with the new speakers, tweeter and subwoofer combined with the Sony headunit. With just the subwoofer so far, the overall sound is already better than stock and it does definitely thump
