Megane CC '07 Problems closing roof/bootlid

Hi

My Megane CC '07 has a problem when closing the roof. When the boot lid comes down to close, at about 10 ins from closing the drivers side drops 2ins. The boot lid continues to close properly and seal and lock in place.

I've noticed that the black locking mechanism at the back of the boot, that hinges up and down, does the 2in dropping described.

Has anybody seen this happen on their CCs? and is there a simple solution to it?
