Can I have some advice please?
About a year ago my 2003 1.5DCI had a complete new fuel system put in (long story, fuel pump issue, very expensive no going into it!!) Since then it has run like a dream and has made me fall back in love with my Meg. However occasionally it will take 2 or 3 goes to start and if I do a short journey and try to start again can take a few more on top of that.
Yesterday (after a short journey) it would not start at the 8th attempt!! I opened the bonnet and noticed that the first foot or 2 of the fuel line from the little hand pump did not have any fuel in it, so I pumped the bellow a couple of times and tried to start it, and it went first time.
Now was this coincidence or should the line after the little bellow to the engine be primed with fuel all the time or is it taking in air from somewhere which is giving ,me the very intermittent starting issue?
I have had a look this morning and the line again has no fuel in it as described above, I pumped the bellows again and it filled with fuel. When I stopped and watched, the air 'bubble' makes its way back to the line from the engine which would make sense as it is the highest point in the fuel delivery line.
I would appreciate any advice.
Many thanks in advance.

1.5 Dci Fuel Line Question
I was worried about buying a Renault, now I have bought it I am waiting for it to go wrong............but I like it!
Re: 1.5 Dci Fuel Line Question
I have absolutely no idea if the parts used were genuine Renault or not. Is there an easy way to tell?
The pipe work looks good but who knows? As I said there is fuel in the line up to the bellow, then the lines have no fuel from the bellow to the engine. I have attached a picture, you can just make out the fuel in the line at the top, the pipes after are clear.
