Megane II hatchback boot set up

Postby steviedude100 » Fri Jan 20, 2012 1:26 am

Hi guys and girls, ive got an issue that is driving me insane. i have an 04 plate megane 1.9 dynamic, love the car to bits but every since i have bought it there has been a few issues. One of them being the boot set up, my spare wheel and tools are all loose and they are driving me crazy!!!! went to the renault parts in dunstable and sorry to say but they were useless and wanted to know EXACTLY what i needed. so im here to ask for some help......in my boot i have my spare wheel with tools inside, spare wheel and tools are loose so what secures them and where are the tools meant to be secured? also i have like a flap type thing that is sagging into the wheel .....is this normal or is there meant to be some sort of support to hold the boot floor up?

any pictures or parts numbers would be VERY VERY much appreciated and then i can order the parts i need :D

thanks all

You'd be best going to a scrap/breakers yard, then you can open ymthr boot and take exactly what you want, it'll cost you £5-£15 rather than £50/£75 that Renault would charge as I imagine they'd tell you you need a whole new tool set rather than just the holder!
Good luck :-)

ive been to two scrap yards now and both had meganes but the boot was completely stripped out, the breaker did tell me there was something to hold the flap boot floor up. even if i knew what i was looking for i could search ebay etc....so a photo of how the boot should be set up would be really helpful

If it stops raining at some point tomorrow I'll photograph all the contents and parts for you.

It finally stopped raining so here's what you should have.

1. A top carpet which is fairly rigid and hinged about halfway so you can fold it back.

Image

2. A second carpet which is moulded to the shape of the spare wheel and provides a bit of storage and some support for the top carpet.

Image

3. The spare wheel itself which is secured to the floor by a large plastic threaded nut type thing.

Image

4. A moulded grey polystyrene tool holder for your jack and wheel brace which fits in the wheel well just under the off side light cluster. I've photographed it in position and removed.

5. If you have alloys as standard (a Dynamique should) you should also have the locking wheel nuts in a small plastic case and a set of four steel wheel bolts for use with the steel spare wheel (these are originally supplied in a small bubble wrap envelope).

I think that's it. Hope it's been some help.

You can usually find what you need on ebay if you're patient. There's a tool kit and holder on at the moment and a boot carpet.
