sad news

Postby rickandjo » Sun Sep 25, 2011 10:31 am

its with sadness that i inform you all the megane have been sold.

with my mrs being disabled (she has MS) she is entitled to motability, our megane was almost 8 years old so we decided to take advantage of the motability scheme to get a new car, first car we obviously went to see was the new megane, but unfortanly with the driver seat set up for her it was really hard for her to get in and out of the car, so after much searching and test driving all sorts of cars the same size or bigger of the megane we end up ordering a nissan qashqai +2.
but not all is lost with the garage where we got the nissan from being a nissan and renault dealer that means when the qashqai goes for service we can borrow a megane for the day :-) i'll just have to drive it myself as mrs wont be able :grin :grin

Yeah - I echo Eddie's post about your wife - I sincerely hope you both find your new vehicle suitable for its purpose and enjoy the best health as can be had in the circumstances.

From memory Renault and Nissan share many components - including the dci range of diesels. If this hunch is true - you may be back here for advice!

Good luck mate.
Silver 08 plate 5dr 1.5dci Dynamique 106 Tech Run (re-mapped)

Red 03 plate 5dr 1.9 Dynamique dci120

Best advice for Megane owners: sell it before it bankrupts you!

of all the cars we test drove and trust me we test drove a truck load of them, she only found 3 to be suiteble for her, a golf, a volvo s40 and the qashqai, so we went for the qashqai as it has good looks, well equiped, big boot and a good mpg
i did heard something about renault and nissan sharing the dci engines, and yes renault owns a big share of nissan so you would assume that nissan would have same type of onboard satnav that renault has but no, the nissan satnav isnt as good as the tomtom on the renaults still does the job but lacks things like lane assist

Sad news to learn that your wife has the debilitating condition of MS. Great news that she's found a car that is suitable.

Hope that it serves her well :tu
