Sounds like the bulb holder isn't making a proper contact. It's a fairly common thing. You may just need to remove it clean it and put it back. That's assuming it's the front indicator that's at fault.
When you've got it out it looks like the stopper off a hot water bottle and it will help you get it back in a lot easier if you cut 5mm off the end of it so that it clears the obstructions behind the light.

I had this today, I turned the paddle on the back of the bulb back and forth and it worked again. Before you take it out completely I'd give it half a dozen turns or so back and forth to clean up the connection a bit and see if it does it again.

The bulb holder doesn't have any wires coming from it. What you think is a cover is the bulb holder itself. Turn the holder anti clockwise thro' a quarter of a turn until it stops turning, then pull it back towards you. It may be a bit stiff but persevere. When it is free you need to jiggle it about to get it past the obstructions behind the light.
Once you can see it it will all become clear.
Putting it back is easier if you cut some of the 'grip' off so it clears the obstacles easier. When you've got it to the back of the light unit and the bulb is visible from the front of the light turn the holder slowly until you feel it locate properly. Then turn clockwise to secure it.
Hope that makes sense.
