I'm on a 45mpg at the moment for the last 1,000 mile prob 50/50 motorway and urban with some enthusiastic driving lol
Just wondering if thats any good for a 1.9dci or should i be buying a fuel cleaner.

I'm getting 55mpg at the moment whilst on my daily 5 mile commute. The trouble is the engine is only just warm by the time I arrive.

I have a 300 mile round trip tomorrow - I'm hoping to see around 65mpg. A far cry from the 16mpg I could expect to get in the Range Rover!

I do 500 miles a week on mainly A roads in my 1.5 86...

Getting 64-65 consistently....

this is th reason I bought the Megane as fuel bill has halved despite diesel now being significantly higher than petrol

Hi guys,
I've very recently bought a low mileage (21k) GT150 DCi and according to OBC im getting between 39 and 45MPG on a mixture of runs. If im honest I was expecting easy high 40's, possibly low 50's.. am I very unlikely to achieve this?

Everything on the interweb and promo info states 51 to 58mpg dependent on urban/extra urban etc.. but if im only going to get high or mid 30's when I pick the pace up, im going to be really disappointed.

Is there any info anywhere for results on remaps for GT150's? im wondering if they improve fuel economy, and if they make the power delivery smoother or not...ive never driven such a smooth diesel so i'd be very surprised!

any advice welcome please guys, im driving sedately and only acheiving circa 42mpg - most people are very surprised when I tell them so it cant just be me that thinks this is poor for a good diesel engine.

Is there anything I should check for that may be affecting the fueling/economy adversly? It drives superbly, very smooth and pulls strongly - but I dare not test it too much for fear of economy dropping into the 30's!

Before you get into the dreaded Engine Management stuff, I'd check what tyres you're running (also pressures).

I have Michelin Energy tyres - quite expensive, but I think they're worth it - get 50mpg all the time, great longevity, and excellent grip.

On my 1.9dci over the last 300 miles im averaging 35mpg while averaging 18mph all on short trips with all wrong tyre pressures and in need for a service. Hoping i can get that up into high 40s low 50s when its warm enough outside for me to service it and sort out tyres.

on my 1.6 sedan with 132.000kms i get around 43mpg, in combined driving in motorway and city. I drive at speeds of 90 km/h (55 miles). The best i ever got in these conditions is 44.11 mpg. I run on michelin saver tires, 195/65/15.

I've read every post on this thread, and no one has mentioned the 6 speed 2.0vvt Convertible. I'm interested to know what it will deliver in real life - i'm moving over to one from a laguna 2 1.9dci 6 speed - now that just 'cruised' on the motorway, 6th gear, 70mph, 50mpg.. revved really low as well.
Now i'm gonna be back onto petrol I should have a slight offset on the lower cost of fuel.

I once asked some friends a question on Facebook and nobody could answer it - maybe one of you guys could?

Based on your figures the petrol car will cost 7% more on the motorway and 22% more around town than the diesel.

all this talk of mpg is getting me excited lol.

picking up my 1.5dci 80 tomorrow after 18 months of a 2.5 bmw petrol tourer and 16.5 mpg

i only do short journeys so will try and give it a blast once a week i think. will report back after i had it a week and see what its saying then.

I have recently sold my 2003 BMW 318I Petrol and was getting 29-34 MPG..
Now i have got a 2003 1.9DCI Megane 3 dr hatch and i'm well pleased with the results so far......
I commute 110 daily (return Trip) to and from work and i'm getting 52-61 MPG and it's saving me approx £60-£70 per week on fuel..... Happy Days.

My 2004 1.5 dci 80 hp Is only getting me 40 mpg. It's mainly town driving but would have expected more. Is there anything I can do to improve.
Already have egr clean and a service on my list.
