Well guys i have a little update:

The engine is ready to get back on it's place; it has now low compression pistons, new rings and new gasket set; there is a problem with the OEM clutch, so we are going to replace it with a stage 1 bronze disc.

I have a question, as you know, this engine has an electronic accelerator, and meny sensors that make the car go in protection mode as soon as it feels more than 1 bar. Due to this, we are going to replace the Throttle body and the intake manifol to this one:

There is another question I want to ask you; as you can see the cam gear that makes the VVT function is no longer going to be used, it has been suspended; the person who is biulding my engine told me that the engine works fin as soon as the oil pressure is high, and this is due to the VVT (i hope you can understand me, remember this is not my native language); so they decided to take it of, and this will make the engine work fine from the low rpm range reducing turbo lag. Does anyone hace anny comments on this?

I have a 1.6 16v vvt and from what ive learned the vvt doesnt really do that much, just gives the engine a little kick up the ar*e after so many thousand revs..

with a turbo charger that will happen anyway. so whether the vvt is there or not.. with the mods youve done, youd never notice..

as for your question.. will it fit.. the bolt holes seem to line up.. but that doesnt mean it will fit.. let me know how you get on with that.. if i ever take it upon myself to try and suck a very small amount of power out of the 1.6 it may be a future mod for my engine.

If it would benifit it at all??

the part from a clio 182 you say? how much did that set you back

Well, you're right.. The kick of the VVL won't be fekt wirth a turbocharger.

Regarding the Intake manifold, I've heard its a good mod. The OEM manifold on the 2.0L is not very efficient.

It cost about 40€ without the throttle body, I will use a random throttle body I can get here. The cost in this mod (in my case) is the logistic on getting it to Colombia.

considering its the worst engine ever to get any power increase out of.

Well, I think the answer is yes, BUT, to make it efficient some other mods shoul be done. If you are getting more air inside, you also have to look for the way out. Maybe increasing the catback diameter to a 2.25'' with no catalitic converter and a stage 1 port & polish job you may get about 10-12hp. About the fittment.. I don't know... Nothing that a custom flange can't solution.

Well I have a big udate. The car was taken yesterday to the shop where all the piping is going to be made. I has some parts mounted like the Intake Manifold (we could not buy the Clio 182's manifold, so we mounted a Clio 1.6L one), cast exhaust manifold, Turbo, Intercooler and the new radiator.

Hi guys! i've been away for a while.

The car was ready in November, ir ran 240whp @ 7psi, it was running perfect!

But i had a problem with the Water Methanol and two pistons melted... so, we´re mounting Forged rods an pistons.

As soon as i get new results i will post pics and more info!
