1.5 Diesel 80,86,100 or 106 BHP Which one?

Hello All,

I looking to buy my first Megane a 1.5 diesel, but there are so many different models to choose from. Which is the better one to go for and how do i know which model is which? Did the different power models come out in different years?

I do a mixture of 50% motorway and 50% urban driving. Good fuel economy is important to me, but i do not want anything too sluggish.

I have a maxium budget of around £3500 but i would prefer to spend under £3000, if its possible to buy anything decent at this price.

Any advice would be most welcome.

Personally, I wouldn't go for anything smaller than 100bhp. You will struggle to find a decent one for that kind of money I would think.. Do a search on autotrader!

If you know anyone who is good with cars, do some reseasrch and hit the car auctions, lots of good bargains to be had there, i picked up an 04 plate 1.5dci dynamique with 49k and service histort for £1900. Fuel consumption is awesome too

hi i got a 2004 megane 1.5 dci 80 bhp which i find exellent it returns 55 mpg around town and over 60 mpg on motorway £30 year road tax and i dont find slow at all

I see that 80, 85 and 100 dci have Delphy EMS, while the 105 has Siemens.
Any more expiriance with those versions?
