Re: Can anyone please help!!!!!!
My manual says to remove the wheel arch liner then lift a piece of protective carpet that looks like it's in the boot area behind the fuel flap to reveal the "fuel filler flap locking motor".
It then says make sure the locking motor is in the unlock position or turn the knob manually if there is an electrical fault.
Then undo the nut under the fuel filler cap to remove the motor presumably from under the vehicle hence the removal of the liner.
I'm guessing you cant unlock yours, sorry I cant be any more help than that, I'm using an e-manual and it wont allow me to cut and paste anything but is pretty vague anyway, also my car is 2004 and the info relates specifically to my VIN. Good luck

Got the manual from a well known auction site, it's pretty good.
Had a quick look at my car today, the instructions in the manual didn't make any reference to unfastening part of the boot carpeting at the side, the photos showed it with the carpeting missing.
However if you put your hand down between the brushes of the boot lid hinge you can feel the little piece of protector carpet and get your hand in behind and feel the fuel filler locking motor sticking out horizontally towards the rear of the car.
You might then fathom out how to operate the manual unlocking knob.

This is a right ba***rd of a job to do. Mine stopped working recently and my local Renault specialist (not main dealer) replaced it for me. Quoted me 1 hour labour and it took just over 2 hours!.Even with the side carpet moulding removed there's hardly any room to get your hands in. There is, though, a little handle on the end of it that you can pull (if you can reach it through the gap in the brushes!) that withdraws the plunger.
Good Luck!
