Hi all, newbie here
Can anyone tell me if you have sucessfully installed a RS225 engine in a CC?
Also, can you marry it to a 2.0 auto box?
Potential future project.....
Cheers

Re: Engine upgrade
I am not sure but I have thought of installing a written off megane cc 2.0dci engine into mine but am still saving up for it.

Re: Engine upgrade
No-one's put a 225 engine in a CC? There must be someone out there?

It is a bit of a long shot really. The majority of Megane owners won't ever lift the bonnet. Your typical CC driver... even less chance!
I have never heard or seen of an engine swap but that is no reason for you not to try it first. Be a pioneer!

Re: Engine upgrade
I think it would require a bit more than lifting the bonnet!!
Off the top of my head you would need:
Complete engine/gearbox/diff assembly
All associated induction and exhaust for the above
ECU
Uprate Brakes and suspension
And the ability to spend a lot of time and money and probably end up with something that is worse than what you started with. More power does not necessarily mean more fun.
Once you got it all fitted, managed to get someone to insure it -hope the chassis does n't twist itself to destruction.
My 1.6 CC as massive scuttle shake with the roof off and if you give it some beans on the bends the screen surround twists between the door windows.
I love my car, but it's a comfortable tourer, definitely not a sportscar.

Re: Engine upgrade
That's the point I was making. That most megane owners won't give a damn about what happens under the bonnet, never mind consider changing an engine!

Re: Engine upgrade
Thanks for the thoughts guys. I had also considered all the things you mentioned jak01, that's why I was hoping someone might have already pioneered the swap, to get an idea of the pitfalls, and if indeed it is possible.
