Door handle 'chrome' cracked
The chrome (only on the rear part of the door handle that doesn't move) is cracked & starting to peel. Not only does it make the car look tatty, but this is now happening on 2 of the doors & the car is only just over 3 years old
. Is this a common problem, & is it possible to replace this part without the probable expense of replacing the entire door handle(s). I don't have hands-free locks. Any advise much appreciated.

Re: Door handle 'chrome' cracked
This is a common problem, I had mine replaced during the warranty period, only for it to happen again a few years later. You say your car is just over 3 years old, what is your mileage? I suggest you take pictures of the door handles, print the pictures and enclose them in a polite letter to Renault UK customer services explaining how disappointed you are that they are cracking/peeling and how you expect the quality to be of a higher standard and to last longer than three years.
I had a similar issue with a flaking/peeling gear knob insert (where the palm of your hand touches) at 2.5 years old, wasn't covered under warranty so I took pictures and sent a letter and presto, Renault covered the cost.

Thanks for the reply. I'll definitely take some pictures and give it a try. . . . .

Re: Door handle 'chrome' cracked
In case anyone was hoping to replace just the cracked part of their door handles (a fairly common problem) , I've just had a reply back from Renault parts direct . . . . .
Apparently the handle is only available complete for the sum of £64.26 each!!
Think I'll get 4 stainless steel covers from e bay for £20 instead!
