Washer Jets :-(

Postby andrew_s46 » Mon May 21, 2007 7:22 pm

hi,
my washer jets have recently stopped working. although sometimes they do work it is a very small squirt at the bottom of the screen. sometimes it does not squirt at all.
whenever i pull the stalk to active the washers i can hear the motor trying to pump the water.

any ideas what it could be?

The pump has probably gone!
Not an uncommon problem

Compared to other cars that I have owned over the years, the washers are feeble. The wiper blades have usually run over a dry windscreen twice by the time the water appears. I assume this is normal for the megane. The rear screen takes even longer for the water to come through!

hi
i sorted it! htanks for your help anyway!

seems as though the pipe was being kinked at the top of the engine bay near the hinge - i simply relocated the pipe and 100% powerful!

I must check my pipe routing. I may have been putting up with rubbish window washers whilst thinking this is the norm for a megane.
