Can anyone help on this one!!
A diesel megane on a 04 plate. Whilst driving along the other day the revs suddenly went up to around 6,000 + rpm and the car suddenly died. Since this has happened, whenever the key card is put in and an attempt is made to start the car all you can here is a click from the relay. It then says injector fault and remove card. THe car will not attempt to turn over in the slightest.
Does anyone have any ideas on this problem or where to start looking??

Re: 04 Megane DCI Cut Out Suddenly!!
Car revving up and then dying sounds like a blown turbo to me.....car is revving up because it is running on the oil that is leaking through the damaged bearing.
Usually, if you dont force the engine to a halt immediately you are looking at a widespread engine damage....
Best of luck....

Cheers guys, looks like a bit off checking out to do....Now I just need to decide where to start.
If this is the case do you know if the starter etc will still attempt to kick in or does the system cut everything out. Only when it was tried other then the click on the relay nothing else appears to have attempted to power up in the engine bay to start the car, if the turbo or sieizing up was teh problem wouldn't all of these things still attempt to work.

If you the turbo has blown and destroyed the engine then you may well be in luck..
Renault introduced an "OTS" to cover this problem that extends the Engine warranty to 5 years or 90K miles.. This warranty will cover the engine IF the failure was due to the Turbo charger failing.
For this extended warranty to valid you must be able to show that the service intervals have been maintained correctly. This will have to be proved by invoices for the work that was done. It is not necessary for Renault to have done the servicing but "approved" parts must have been used..
Call your dealer and explain the situation and remind them of the OTS.. They may not be forthcoming, but it does exist.. If you have no joy call Renault customer services..

This is the reason I ask, becasue the turbo was only changed a few months ago for a brand new at the dealers and all has been fine. It is just the fact that as i slowed down, prob to around 20mph the car started to rev and the card was pulled out quickly causing the car to cut out and stop and as i say since then it will not start, and will only give me ignition, until i press the start button when the injector fault appears and the remove card display comes up.

For confirmation: The car stalled when you pulled the card?
If that is the case it has nothing to to with the Turbo in my view. Once the Turbo starts burning the engine oil, the engine keeps running even when pulling the card.
Maybe "only" some electrical problem?

Yep. And an engine where the Turbo is just on its way out can also NOT be stopped by pressing the button.....

Cheers, well hopefully the engine and turbo aren't the problem. Now I just need to find out what the elictrical fault is lol!!
Does anyone know where the large fuses near the battery are located, someone mentioned those today.

The fuse is in p.10 here:
https://www.reno.ro/index.php?s=dc16684c ... 1627461171
I hope it did not blow in an attempt to start a seized engine.
It is all in the manual in our Links section... On the other hand, I would not be overly optimistic. Take note of what Webcode mentioned...
