Tunepoint and ipod: only 5 "playable" folders?

Postby ohcan » Fri Dec 26, 2008 10:19 pm

Oi!

I've just bought a Megane II rly cheap from a local 2nd hand dealer, and it comes with a shiny Tunepoint inside the glovestore.

Ive been reading across the threads about this accesory but couldnt find the answer to my problem:

for some odd reason, when i connect my ipod to the tunepoint with the special ipod cable, it only allows me to play 1 to 5 folders, being the 6th the "random" one (plays the 1k songs ive stored in my ipod), as if i had just 5 CDs stored.... Not only that, those 5 folders must be labelled as "playlists".
I dont know if im doing something wrong or the fact that the tunepoint goes into the 6CD charger renders the accesory to the point of only being able to "recognize" up to 5 folders.....

I dont mind not being able to read the artist, title and album on the osd of my car, but rly, i mean, realy, i want to play my ipod the old fashioned way: no playlists, just artists folders (and i must have about 100 folders) :p

Am I doing something wrong? might be a problem with my ipod nano 8GB? ipod firmware problem mayhaps?

Muchos thx in advance :)

If you plug the ipod into the tune point, it will play tracks in alphabetical order, which can be ball ache if you have thousands of track to flick threw.

The 5 Folders are PLAYLISTS that you can create to make it easier to select the track you want. If you have no PLAYLISTS created on your ipod, button 1 is the only one that will work and it will just play all tracks, if u then press buttons 2 to 5 then that may just move you up through your songs (ipod dependant)

so buttons 1 to 5 on the radio will select the different playlists you have created with button 6 being random.

my playlists on my ipod are as followed.

1. Rap and R&B
2. Dance
3. Pop
4. Rock
5. Oldies

So if i want to listen to pop music i would press button 3 on the radio and that will then allow me to flick through all the tracks listed in the pop playlist that i have created.
U can have as many tracks as you want in each playlist, well as many tracks as your ipod will hold!!

Unforunatly you cant select tracks by album or artist etc.. like how you can under normal operation of the ipod. On the installation manual for the tunepoint it says it recomends you to create playlists for the bst results.
