Concealing paint scratches

Postby candleman » Sun Jul 13, 2008 9:13 pm

Hi guys,

Some kind & considerate s*d has generously added some scratches to the driverside wing & rear dooor of my sports tourer in the car park of my local asda (don't you just love supermarkets). My guess sombody squeezed through the gap beteeen the cars and scrapped a zip or such like against my car :-( Fortunately they are not deep or so severe that they need a proper blow over in the paint shop, :D but when you look they are noticable. Not washing the car helps hide them, but I hate a car that doen't shine.

Anybody got any ideas how to conceal them. If needs be I will go professional, but money is tight at present so it may have to wait.

Thanks in advance

Thanks,
I've not heard of that one, I will look it up.

Someone said he'd used a " coloured" T-cut for light scratches.

Anyone used them? Any recommendations welcome.

I second that.

Having a dark Blue car I know all about scratch marks :(

Be careful with it as you can over do it if you are not careful, I find Scratch-X and then a quick buff with T-Cut (for metailics) shifts most light surface marks, then a coat of Meguiars Cleaner Wax which is also very good at reducing minor imperfections and swirl marks.
It leaves the paint feeling very smooth and rich looking
