warning lights

Hi I have a megane coupe registered Mar 08. Today the emissions message and warning light came on. The spanner was also illuminated. My question is the manual says contact renault dealer who have send they cant not look at it for 3 days, Is it safe for me to continue to drive til they have a look? I have only done 1500 miles abd really need to use the car daily.

If its only done 1500 miles i'd ring dealer and ask them whether it is ok to drive. Just covering your own back then if anything goes wrong. If they say don't drive it kick up a fuss at 1500 miles you should not have problems and if you do you should be given a courtesy car.

This happened to me, (06 reg) it came up "check emmissions" I still drove it an nothing happened. I booked it into renault for a few days later. The morning I was due to take it in the message was no longer displayed and the spanner disappeared. I still took it to renault to see if it was worth checking out, only to be advised the message has now gone off, so the problems no longer there. I requested to have it checked and they said they would charge me over £100 for a diagnostics test which probably wouldnt show any result as the message was no longer there. Had no problems since, message hasnt come back on

Hi there, I seem to be having the same problems as you are or was!
I have just picked up my new megane today and have just had the emissions light and spanner come on.
Has your car been fixed now? Do you know why or what caused this as the cars are new and should not have any problems at all!!!
P.S i called AA who said that if the lights are orange then it ok to drive but needs looking at but if its red then do not drive! if that helps
