New car, fault no.2. Parcel shelf.

Postby carlosthejackal » Sat Jan 19, 2008 7:09 pm

As a consequence of taking the parcel shelf off to check whether or not the boot light was turning off when the boot was closed, I can't get the shelf back on. I'm sure it was on properly before I took it off, but clipping it back onto the pegs, it seems to be impeding itself on the back seats. If it's just resting on the pegs, it falls into the bootspace when I close the hatch. Any ideas or am I just thick? I know it takes time to get used to a new cars idiosyncrasies, but indulge me....

It takes a little bit of effort. Rest it on the pegs and then push down and towards the front of the car and you should hear a clunk as they clip in.

Oh yeah, they clip in, it's just that the shelf is stuck against the back seats once it's in. And the shelf pops itself off the pegs when you open the boot again.

I may just take it back to the garage and kick the salesmans head in...
