I have found an easy solution (which may have been found before) but I think it is worth letting you know.
1. Lift bonnet
2. Remove plastic 'corner' cover (over headlight)
3. Remove wheel arch 'cover'
4. Remove 'cover' from back of headlight.
5. Remove wires from headlight bulb
6. Using a sharp knife, cut a 'slot' in the plastic headlight housing above the clip holding the bulb. This gives a much easier access to the clip from the 'top'
7. The clip can now be released more easily without trying to access it from below.
8. Remove the old bulb and insert the new one
9. Replace the clip now accessible from the top
10. Replace the wires
11. Replace the cover from the back of the headlight. You will notice that this cover now 'hides' the slot you cut. You can put some 'tape' over it if you wish
12. Replace the wheel arch cover
By cutting the slot the whole job takes less than ten minutes
Its still scratches your arm to pieces but it is a lot less expensive than the Dealers
Replacing Headlight Bulbs
