Think I may have fixed it .The fault happened a few times after it was fixed by garage .It happened luckily outside my house so I disconected battery for about an hour and everything was ok for several days then it happened again out on the road .So I disconected it agin but only for about two seconds and it seems to have cured it .If you try this make sure you know the radio code how to set it as it will need to be re entered .

My last message about undoing battery lead did not cure the problem permantly .It finally had to go into a independant garage who fixed the problem which was a flywheel sensor .This has now cured the problem and according to the mecanic is a common problem .I hope this helps someone else .
