got a txt at work from the wife to say the flashers were on and wont turn off, car hasnt moved for 3 weeks, using my car this week and off sick before. She went and got the keys and tried to start the car, battery dead. Came home and lights still flashing, wont switch off, put battery charger on and 1 hour later flashers have stopped , going to leave it overnight and check in the morning. Never heard of a flat battery putting the flashers on.
Guess after 9 years it might be time to fit a battery, more so that this car will soon be the winter/bad weather car and be hardly used as i prefer my bike for commuting, gotta be 2 inch of snow for me to leave that at home.

Re: battery flat
My battery died just after I bought the car. I got a replacement battery for £20 from the scrappy. Fine ever since..

Re: battery flat
further update battery now charged, flashers seem to have been on most of day while charging. Only way to stop them is to disconnect earth trerminals, while removing large earth lead slight sparks and also slight whining noise from below battery where I think the ecu's live. Not sure if I remember reading on here of a control unit /ecu failing that put out wierd errors and faults, dont know if hazards was one of these.
So any ideas guys
Anyone know if hazards have their own flasher unit, if so where does it live
Is the hazard circuit fused, if so where does the fuse live

Re: battery flat
''flashers seem to have been on most of day while charging'' you are meant to disconnect the battery whilst charging, you could get a surge in electricity and fry the electrics.
