Howdie folks, I've just changed the head gasket on my 2007 1.5 dci.
Engine starts and idles perfectly but when you reach 2000rpm there seems to be a release of air pressure. I can feel it vibrating up from the turbo wastegate area and through the top intercooler pipe.
In addition to this the brake pedal is very very firm and makes it difficult to stop the car.
Could these too issues be related? I was thinking possibly something to do with the vacuum pump, but any help would be appreciated

sounds like you have a leak in the pressurised inlet side from the turbo...
and sounds like your vacuum pump or piping to supply the brake servo is not working..
have you coupled everything up ?

Re: Possible turbo/brake fault after head gasket change
Well folks I'm still having problems with this megane, I've checked the turbo and it's definitely gone and a new one is on the way. My problem now is would the faulty turbo have caused a vacuum leak which would then affect the braking. Ooorr has a vacuum leak somewhere else killed my turbo!
I can't find anything but what's the best way to check for leaks? Bearing in mind I can't start the car now as it's in many pieces.

Also the egr was super clogged and I'm pretty sure was stuck closed. Seems to be operating now but I'm sure that wouldn't have helped?
