Loss of power

Postby coachpotato » Thu May 07, 2015 4:45 am

Hi, my fiancée has an 04 Megane 1.5DCi, car runs fine, starts & stops well and in the whole it drives well but every niw and then, & it seems to be happenibg more often lately, as you're driving it will sunddenly lose power, as if the engine has died, but squeeze the throttle and it's running fine again.
Any ideas?

Exact same thing happened to me.. it was the brake light switch.

Pull the switch out and pull out the plunger a couple of clicks... then reinsert and voila! Hopefully that takes care of the problem. Should take you all of 5 mins to do.

I have a left hand drive megane and the switch was easily accessible under the dash and attached to the brake. Twist and pull out and then adjust as stated above.

Good luck!
