Re: regenerate soot filter message
Usually that means the ecu has not been able to perform the regeneration cycle for a while, and you need to drive it at a constant speed of 80 km/h (is that 50 mph?) for a good time, say half an hour. happens mostly with cars that just do short trips.
Other than that, it's a visit to the dealership, they can do a forced regen.

Re: regenerate soot filter message
cheers wickydude, I will do that tomorrow.
like the idea of it being fitted to "save the planet" and then after drive further and faster to clean it out.
must make sense to somebody.

Re: regenerate soot filter message
Problem solved
15 miles at over 3000rpm and message disappeared,
seems to me to be a counter productive exercise but hey ho what do I know.

Re: regenerate soot filter message
It still filters out the small soot particles.
Normally when you drive, you don't notice the regen, it's just when it can't finish the process for an x number of times, it will throw an error. Short trips no good

Re: regenerate soot filter message
hi
make sure you use the correct oil I kept having this message and eventually my dpf was completely blocked Renault said I should be using 10w 40 or 5w 40 in my 1.9 dci megane
I had a new one fitted and a week later I had the regenerate soot filter message again so I searched the internet and found out I should have been using 5w 30 full synthetic oil so I changed it and haven't had that message in over two years .
hope this helps.

Re: regenerate soot filter message
Yeah full synth, but must also be compliant with acea c4 spec. Or Renault 0720 approved (same thing really).
