put petrol in diesel megane cc

my wife has borrowed my daughters 1.9diesel-130 megane cc 56 plate while she is away on holls, anyway as she never puts juice in as E on the fuel gauge means enough to her has decided to go & put some juice in she only put £20 15litres of petrol in instead of diesel & then drove about 8miles parked it up then when she come back to it it wouldnt start.
the car is being drained as we speak.
will this wreck the engine.
should i fit new fuel filter.
any advice welcomed asap.

we did this a few weeks ago. They drained the tank and changed the fuel filter.
Been running fine ever since. We put about £20 in giving us a 50/50 diesel/petrol
mix, then drove 120 miles. You should be okay!

nothing to worry about i done this a couple of months ago paid £100 to have it drained and a new fuel filter put in. Don't worry about all the horror stories for needing a new engine mine is running like a dream now.

Never hear diesel in a petrol car....

just got the car back all drained & new filter.
cost £70 total through a friend he just said take it easy for a few days.
alls i was getting told where the horror stories.
wife should stick to staying away from the pumps as she normally does,that shocked me even more than putting the wrong juice in actually putting some in,as i said, to my wife E for empty means enough...
