Re: airbag and spanner light
you will need to get the fault code read, any decent garage will be able to do this.

Re: airbag and spanner light
Before you pay out did a water get in? have a feel under the front seats see if the mats and underlay are wet, if not whilst there just under the front of the seats siting in a hole in the underlay (carpet flap over them) are some plugs, one of these conectors are for the seat airbags. you have one under each front seat.
If wet try drying them out.
If not squeze them together to push the conectors together in the block, mine does this quite often on the passenger seat, I think it has something to do with the cables not having enough free play so when you have rear seat passengers moving of the front seat all the time works the plug a bit loose, when this happens it puts an airbag light on and a service light for me (2004 CC) hand under seat a quick squeze and lights are out again. Connector does not feel lose but it seems to do the job, worth a try as a free fix, if it does not work then it has cost you nothing to try.

Re: airbag and spanner light
As Chris says, take at look at the connector under the seat. My drivers side come loose sometimes
After sliding the seat. I just push the connector on the floor under the seat, and the fault clears.
I really need to do a permanent fix though when it's warmer.

Oh dear if you have tried all the usual suspects it looks like a code read to find out who is playing up, I take it you sqouse the plug together not just looked at it, as this is what I did 1st time, and thought yep it looks ok, to be honest even when you squeeze to me it doesn't feel like it moves but it must be just enough, still it was worth a try, would be really anoying to pay out for the dealer to do this, sorry it didn't work for you.
